Galaxy U11 Girls Win the Norcal Premier Bronze State Cup!

The Petaluma U11G Galaxy is a first year team from the Petaluma United Soccer Club and after competing in a number of summer tournaments, finished the season by winning the NorCal Premier Soccer Bronze Division State Cup Championship. The Galaxy players are Goalkeeper Abby Chamberlain, defenders Hannah Herman, Mikayla Keefer, Taya Llapitan, Emily Rose, midfielders Alex Urton, Emma Baswell, Paige Hulsman, Lauren Beels, strikers Ashley Casper and Emma Riley.
Petaluma Tide U13 Girls Win the Norcal Premier Bronze State Cup!

The Petaluma United U13G Tide FC won the Norcal Bronze Cup with a 4-0 victory over Davis in the final. It was a nice compliment to their Silver League Championship and was a fitting way to end the season. The Tide played creative, attacking soccer all the way through the tournament, scoring 36 goals in 9 games in many different ways. The team only surrendered 2 goals in the entire 9 game stretch, due to their organized, smothering defense and their commitment to possession soccer. All year the U12 girls not only showed their technique, desire and understanding of the game, but they also competed with class and humility, it was an outstanding season - great job girls!
U15G Attack Goes to Regionals!
After clinching the Northern California State Championship in the Presidents' Cup, the Petaluma Attack U15 Girls advanced to the Western Regionals in Denver. The team traveled to Denver in June to compete against teams from all over the Western U.S. In the first round of play, the Attack drew Group A: Nevada, Colorado, and Southern California. Although they did not advance to the final rounds, the Attack competed evenly with their opponents and enjoyed the high level of Presidents' Cup competition.
U12G Bulldogs Place 2nd in Association Cup
The Petaluma Bulldogs under-12 girls soccer team won five games and tied one to reach the finals of the Association Cup. The Bulldogs opened Cup play in a five-team bracket, beating the Madera Magic in the opening match, 5-0. Their second game against the Turlock Tornados ended in a scoreless tie despite several scoring opportunities for the Bulldogs. With tough teams in the bracket, games three and four became must-win games for the Bulldogs to advance. And they delivered. The Bulldogs beat Roseville Fury, a very technical Silver Elite team, 2-0, then beat the Placer Rocklin Inferno, 1-0, to clinch a quarterfinal berth.
In the quarterfinals, the Bulldogs beat a quick Hanford Cenzal Strikerz team, 3-0, to advance to the semifinals. The Bulldogs then faced a big, strong, physical Redding Misfit Renegades team and won, 1-0, earning its way to the finals. The stage was set for two unbeaten and unscored upon teams in the championship game. The Bulldogs and the Celtics from Clovis were the only two out of the 25 teams in the tournament that had not allowed a goal.
The final was a tough, physical, defensive battle as expected. The game was scoreless at the end of regulation, but in overtime, Clovis was given a short free kick after a called foul, which it converted into the game-winner. Final score: Clovis 1, Petaluma 0.
